“A pure, thankful, useful life, a constant thought of appreciating things and avoiding blaming things and people and conditions, all these help to keep away the germ of insanity.” - Hazrat Inayat Khan
A Prayer of Thanks
Beyond miracles is Reality, that Reality that birthed you.
Praise be to that Beloved Reality, to that Ishq within Ishq that is you!
Today may deepest praise be to the beloved who gave us all breath,
Who sustains us in her bosom with loving abundance beyond deserving;
May Glory arise in us, that our whole being sings with joy and gratitude
Alhamdulillah, ya Azim, Subhanallah,
And may this Glory carry our hearts beyond even thanksgiving,
For thanksgiving is not enough to satisfy the depth of gratitude we feel!
May we give praise for the continued abundance showered upon us,
Given selflessly from our Divine Mother who holds us in her arms and heart,
Expects nothing in return, and hugs us constantly as her most beloved children.
Be still a moment, can you feel her embrace, her love? Yes that’s it, ever-present!
It is She, only She that silently helps us grow, picks us up when we fall,
heals our hurts and pain, feeds and nourishes us from her body, and teaches us her wisdom.
How can we thank her enough on this Thanksgiving Day?
By remembering her, by praising her, by offering gratitude to her,
By remembering and cherishing all life as her, and as our very selves,
By honoring, respecting and caring for her Earthly body as our body,
By Remembering each other as sisters and brothers of One Divine Mother, and
Offering loving kindness, generosity and charity to each other.
Ya Wadud, Er Rahman - Er Rahim, Ya Karim, Ya Razzaq, Ya Muquit
In the name of the all compassionate Divine Mother-Goddess
May we be blessed this day and every day with all the abundance we need;
May all our mistakes be instantly forgiven and their consequences righted;
May we be protected and awakened, and may our hearts be opened and illuminated;
May our prayers be heard and answered;
May we be healed body, heart and soul,
May we find joy, love, divine purpose and wonder in every moment of our lives.
Amen, Amin, and So Be It!
