
Maria-Rahima Cori Hetzel
Spiritual Guide, Senior Teacher, Senior Healer
Maria Rahima has been on the Universal Sufi path of Hazrat Inayat Khan for 30 years. She is a spiritual guide, and senior teacher in the Sufi Path of Awakening Order and holds posts of Board Secretary, Senior Healer (Shafayat), Healing Tradition and Divine Feminine Concentration holder. Maria Rahima is an ordained minister (Cheraga or Light Bearer) in the Sufi Path of Awakening Universal Church of the Prophets.
As the Shafayat, she oversees or coordinates all activities of the Sufi Path of Awakening Healing Tradition and conducts a weekly Healing Service. These Services alternate between healing for individuals on the SPA Healing List and healing for people and places in the World. As Concentration Holder for the Divine Feminine, Maria Rahima conducts rituals and teaches on the Goddesses and Saints of many of the World’s spiritual traditions. She also conducts the Universal Worship Service of Hazrat Inayat Khan, which honors the One Reality or God as uniquely expressed in all World religions.
Maria Rahima has been deeply involved (since 2008) with “The Federation of the Sufi Message”, an international non-hierarchical umbrella organization created to foster Love, Harmony and Beauty among all the family streams (Orders/Tariqas) that trace their Spiritual lineage through Hazrat Inayat Khan. She was on the Federation Council and served as it’s Secretary for a year.
Professionally, Maria Rahima (Cori Hetzel) was a Hospice Nurse and is now retired. She earned her Associate of Science degree in Nursing at Santa Fe Community College. She is also certified in Grief, Trauma and Renewal through Southwest College in Santa Fe and Holistic Stress Management from Inspiration Unlimited Paramount Wellness Institute in Boulder, Colorado. She served as a regional on-call hospice nurse with two Hospice agencies in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before providing service directly to hospice patients and families through consulting, case managing, end-of-life care and grief support in her own business called “One Heart’s Work”.
Maria Rahima has volunteer co-facilitated many weekend grief retreats and taught several hundred nursing students about Hospice Care, death and dying and holistic stress management. She has 2 adult children and lives with her husband in Harlingen, Texas, where together, they are fulfilling their lifelong dream of sharing creative art through custom laser engraving and painting.
